Position Summary
The Theatre Server Virtualization Technician is responsible for supporting the deployment, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of virtualized server environments across Regal theatre locations. This role will play a critical part in an enterprise-wide server modernization initiative, introducing virtualization technology into theatre operations for the first time.
This position serves as a hands-on technical resource and subject matter expert, ensuring reliable deployment, performance, and support of theatre-level server infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and validate new server hardware and virtualization platforms in theatre environments
Support large-scale deployment of virtualized infrastructure across multiple locations
Perform system testing, verification, and quality assurance during rollout
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues
Monitor system performance and ensure uptime and reliability of virtualized environments
Provide ongoing operational support and maintenance post-deployment
Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
Collaborate with internal IT teams, project managers, and third-party vendors
Assist in developing best practices and standards for virtualization in distributed environments
Required Qualifications
1–3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or related field
Hands-on experience with server hardware and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or similar)
Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, and network layers
Experience supporting distributed or multi-site environments preferred
Ability to work independently in field-based environments
Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with large-scale deployments or infrastructure rollouts
Familiarity with remote monitoring and management tools
Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, switching)
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, VMware VCP, Microsoft, etc.)
