Role overview
Published via Mainder
We're looking for a Head of Product who can operate at every level of the organization without losing sight of either strategy or execution.
You will define the product direction alongside our founder while remaining deeply involved in execution. You'll challenge assumptions, shape the roadmap, and ensure the team consistently delivers products that create measurable business value.
This is not a people-management role for someone who has become disconnected from building. Nor is it a purely strategic position. We are looking for a product leader who is still highly hands-on, someone who enjoys writing PRDs, reviewing designs, working daily with engineering, and using AI to reinvent how product teams operate.
You'll own the product function end-to-end, helping the company decide not only what to build, but also what not to build.
Define and evolve the company product strategy together with the management.
Own the product roadmap, ensuring every initiative has a clear business rationale, measurable outcomes, and customer value.
Challenge assumptions across the organization and ensure product decisions are driven by evidence rather than opinions.
Balance long-term vision with short-term execution and commercial priorities.
Represent Product at the leadership level, influencing company strategy and investment decisions.
Build a strong product culture centered around customer impact, speed, accountability, and continuous learning.
Shape the future of the product organization as the company grows.
Own the full discovery-to-delivery lifecycle for key initiatives.
Write PRDs that engineers actually want to read: clear problem statements, scoped solutions, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and non-goals.
Work closely with Design to challenge UX decisions, simplify experiences, and eliminate unnecessary complexity.
Partner with Engineering daily to remove blockers, evaluate technical trade-offs, and keep initiatives moving.
Identify delivery risks early and communicate them proactively.
Define, monitor, and optimize product KPIs to ensure shipped work delivers measurable outcomes.
Stay close enough to execution that you always know what's happening without relying on status meetings.
7+ years in Product Management, including significant experience leading product strategy in a startup or high-growth technology company.
Previous experience as a Head of Product, Lead Product Manager, Principal Product Manager, or Senior Product Manager with company-wide ownership.
Demonstrated experience defining product strategy while remaining deeply involved in execution.
Strong technical literacy. You can understand system architecture, discuss API design, evaluate technical trade-offs, and collaborate naturally with engineering teams.
Proven track record of taking products from idea to launch and driving measurable business outcomes.
Outstanding written communication. Your product documentation reduces ambiguity and accelerates execution.
Comfortable challenging founder, executives, engineers, designers, and stakeholders using data, reasoning, and customer insight.
Exceptional product judgment with strong attention to detail.
Naturally curious. You ask "why" before "how" and "when."
Deep familiarity with modern AI tooling for product management and product development. You're already using AI daily to improve research, discovery, documentation, prioritization, and delivery.
Passionate about redefining how product teams work. If a workflow can be rebuilt or significantly improved using AI, you're already experimenting with it rather than waiting for permission.
Previous experience as a software engineer or in a highly technical environment.
Experience building AI-native products.
Experience in B2B SaaS, HealthTech, AI, or other complex software businesses.
Strong understanding of modern product methodologies including Continuous Discovery, JTBD, Opportunity Solution Trees, and Outcome-Based Roadmapping.
Small team, low process, high ownership. We don't do Jira theater.
Direct feedback culture. We say things to each other, not about each other.
Fast execution with high standards for product thinking and quality.
AI-native by default. Every role is expected not only to use AI, but to fundamentally rethink workflows and continuously improve how work gets done.
Hybrid setup based in Madrid.
