About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a fast-growing global Employer of Record that is building its HR operations team. We are looking for an HR Specialist with strong UK employment expertise to own HR operations for the employees the company employs in the United Kingdom on behalf of its clients.
The role combines employment law compliance, hands-on HR administration and employee support across the full employment lifecycle. You’ll be the HR reference for these UK employees and the main contact for their client companies’ HR teams on UK employment matters, working closely with a dedicated UK payroll specialist.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary HR point of contact for UK-based employees and clients’ HR teams, managing the employment lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding.
Prepare and manage employment contracts, amendments, termination documentation and other employment-related matters.
Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation, including right-to-work checks, HMRC/PAYE requirements and ACAS guidelines.
Manage statutory entitlements and HR processes for sickness, parental leave, redundancies and dismissals, escalating complex cases when needed.
Coordinate pension auto-enrolment, statutory reporting and interactions with UK authorities and providers.
Work closely with the UK payroll specialist to make sure lifecycle events are reflected accurately in payroll (payroll calculation is handled by the payroll team).
Maintain accurate employee records, monitor regulatory changes and keep HR processes compliant.
Collaborate with Payroll, Legal, Finance and Operations teams, escalating complex matters to external advisors when necessary.
Requirements
3–6 years of hands-on HR experience, including direct responsibility for UK employment administration and compliance.
Solid understanding of UK employment contracts, statutory entitlements, HR compliance and employee lifecycle management.
Practical knowledge of HMRC, PAYE, ACAS, right-to-work requirements and UK pension regulations.
Degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience. CIPD qualification is a plus.
Native or near-native English, with excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive HR matters independently.
A proactive, service-oriented approach and the ability to work in an international environment.
Nice to Have
Experience in an Employer of Record, staffing, international payroll or HR outsourcing environment.
Experience managing HR operations across multiple countries.
Familiarity with US employment practices or other English-speaking jurisdictions.
What We Offer
Ownership of UK HR operations in an autonomous role.
A growing international organisation with exposure to cross-border HR operations.
Hybrid or remote working, depending on your location.
