🚨 We’re Hiring: Field Service Engineer II | Costa Rica
Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong background in automation, CNC, machine controls, or precision equipment? Are you comfortable troubleshooting complex technical issues and working directly with customers?
We are looking for a Field Service Engineer II to join our team in Costa Rica and provide advanced technical support across our regional customer base in the medical device industry.
As a Field Service Engineer II, you will serve as a technical subject matter expert across our equipment portfolio, independently managing complex service cases from diagnosis through resolution.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair automation equipment across multiple equipment brands.
• Independently manage complex customer service cases and ensure timely resolution.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting involving electrical, mechanical, software, CNC, and machine control systems.
• Lead preventive maintenance activities and system upgrades.
• Escalate complex technical issues and collaborate with internal engineering teams to drive product improvements.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to Field Service Engineers I and Technicians.
• Maintain service reports, technical documentation, and customer communications.
• Identify potential sales opportunities, including service contracts, renewals, and equipment upgrades.
• Support customers at international sites and participate in on-site upgrades and technical projects.
• 4–6 years of experience in field service, troubleshooting, and repair of automation equipment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred. An Associate degree with relevant experience may be considered.
• Strong hands-on experience with CNC, machine controls, PLCs, machine tools, or precision automation equipment is highly preferred.
• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of service cases.
• Strong customer service, communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish, including technical writing and training delivery.
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Valid passport and ability to obtain and maintain required travel visas, including a U.S. B-1 business visa.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in industrial environments.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50%, including overnight and multi-week international assignments.
• Legal authorization to live and work in Costa Rica.
