We are looking for a Database Administrator to join our team and play a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and modernizing enterprise database environments across both on-premise and cloud ecosystems.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, availability, and scalability of critical database platforms while supporting modernization initiatives and cloud adoption strategies. You will collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Development, Analytics, and business teams to support production environments and drive long-term improvements across the data platform.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing operational excellence with modernization efforts and wants to work on initiatives involving SQL Server, Azure technologies, automation, and cloud transformation.
Administer, monitor, and maintain production SQL Server environments ensuring availability, reliability, and performance.
Support and expand the organization’s Azure data platform footprint, including migrations, configuration, and administration.
Design and maintain backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions across on-premise and cloud environments.
Implement and support Always On Availability Groups and disaster recovery strategies.
Perform proactive maintenance, health checks, monitoring, and capacity planning.
Troubleshoot recurring database issues and implement long-term solutions.
Support modernization initiatives such as platform upgrades, migrations, and cloud adoption projects.
Manage database security, access control, governance, and compliance requirements.
Partner with Development and Infrastructure teams to support deployments and new initiatives.
Participate in on-call rotations to ensure business continuity and resolve production incidents.
Mentor team members and contribute to knowledge sharing and technical growth.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
8+ years of hands-on Database Administration experience.
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
Expertise in:
Indexing
Query tuning
Performance troubleshooting
Backup and recovery strategies
Experience implementing and supporting Always On Availability Groups.
Experience with high availability and disaster recovery architectures.
Strong knowledge of T-SQL.
Experience with automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, dbatools, or similar.
Experience developing and supporting SSIS solutions.
Experience working with Azure SQL, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or similar cloud services.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
Experience with SSRS and Power BI.
Experience with Databricks administration, including clusters, workspaces, and Unity Catalog.
Experience supporting cloud modernization initiatives.
Microsoft, Azure, or Databricks certifications.
