We're looking for an AI Staff Engineer to join our AI & Data team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone who enjoys building AI-powered products while helping clients solve complex technical challenges.
As an AI Staff Engineer, you'll work directly with clients, participate in technical discovery sessions, design AI solutions, and contribute throughout the entire software development lifecycle. You'll combine software engineering expertise, deep knowledge of Generative AI technologies, and technical leadership to deliver production-ready solutions while guiding both clients and engineering teams.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy remaining hands-on while influencing technical decisions, mentoring teammates, and shaping innovative AI products from concept to deployment.
Design and build AI-powered applications leveraging LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and modern AI frameworks.
Contribute as a hands-on engineer within client projects, writing production-quality code while providing technical leadership.
Partner directly with clients to understand business challenges, explain technical alternatives, and recommend scalable AI solutions.
Participate in technical discovery sessions, architecture discussions, and solution design.
Support pre-sales initiatives through technical validation, effort estimation, and solution recommendations.
Guide engineering teams through complex technical challenges and architectural decisions.
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality AI products.
Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across projects.
6+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
Strong experience designing, building, and deploying AI-powered applications.
Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and modern AI frameworks.
Strong backend development experience using Python.
Experience building production-grade software, backend services, and APIs.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
Experience collaborating directly with clients or business stakeholders.
Strong client management skills, working effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Product mindset with the ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and recommend appropriate AI approaches.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead technical decisions while remaining actively involved in software development.
Experience participating in technical pre-sales activities.
Previous experience in consulting or software services companies.
Experience with MLOps, observability, and AI evaluation frameworks.
Experience designing multi-agent systems and advanced AI workflows.
